The FAA Ground Instructor Instrument
written examination contains 50 questions and has an allotted
time of 2 ½ hours. The
minimum passing grade is 70% and the written result is good
for 24 months.

What action is recommended if a pilot does not wish to use
an instrument departure procedure?
a) Advise
clearance delivery or ground control before departure..
b) Advise
departure control upon initial contact.
c) Enter “NoDP” in
the REMARKS section of the IFR flight plan.
c. ATC
must be advised if the pilot does not possess the assigned
SID, or the aircraft is not
capable of flying the SID. Notification may be accomplished
by filing “NO
SID” in
the remarks section of the filed flight plan or by less
desirable method of verbally advising
ATC.
